Graphical Interface

Recommended Posts

Hello

Does anybody here have any previous experience with graphical interface systems that work directly with the alarm system, be it via RS232 or USB.

This is for the end user to view the status of the alarm system at anytime.

I had worked with a company many years ago but they are no longer trading...

Any information would be appreciated

cheers

Glad you asked that question!

The application is not for a intruder alarm system really but i plan to use the Mseries as the back bone for the monitoring of devices.

I get asked more and more for this type of application.

Maybe I should explain, if the downloader software already has the ability to monitor the alarm system in real time can't your software engineers trick it up a bit with a neater GUI?

GUI!

Now you’re talking my language.

I need a PC front end display layout of a building showing the status of devices.

Our R&D guys always subbed this work out to another company but they no longer trade and I’m looking for an alternative.

Its bespoke software really.

Ah, but the panel would have to be highly modified as well no?

I assumed you meant just keeping an eye on normal running of the system but if you want to see real time set/unset stuff as long as the panel outputs the correct signals you want an interpreter interface and code to drive it all? I would think there is already code out there for this that could be modified to suit but finding it and the deveoper will be fun!

I'll have a look round if I get chance tommorow, off 2 bylows now!

Just had a thought, most analogue fire panels can have an add on to them to allow their data to be sent to graphical software for fire displays, there's a starting place for you to contact one of these companys?
