Combined intruder /Fire alarm

Can anyone recommend a panel using iD sensors that combines intruder and fire detection for a domestic property. I was looking at the ade karizma but it seems that minerva & texecom are highly regarded. Can the minerva ts690id or the texecom premier 412 be used as a combined intruder/fire panel. Ideally I want a panel that I can monitor from a PC, the idea being to be able to check the status over the internet.

The texecom premier doesnt support iD, but its an excellent system. You cant really monitor it over the internet even though it can be connected to a PC. The PC connection is really to program the panel or diagnose it. Although you can dial into the system from anywhere provided you have a compatible modem. Also would it be wise to have an alarm system controlled by a PC permanently connected to the Internet, if someone hacked into your PC then they could just shutdown your alarm system and rob your house!

I hate to say it but even with advanced firewalls it is still pretty easy (although time consuming) to hack a computer system.

My office has an excellent firewall seen as we have a great deal of sensitive information on it (like flight software that we write for a large aircraft manufacturer) and it was only last month that someone managed to hack the internal webserver (and re-direct all the traffic to a porn site), as well as hack the MySQL server. So I wouldnt put my alarm system on the web!

The menvier 690id will act as a fire alarm with 12v detectors through the id line it has 30 zones id and up to 8 extra zones through the keypads you can also get it with inbuilt digi modem for remote access with dail in facility and the software is available free to registered installers . if you need to accessit over the internet you would have to use a active computer on the internet and a printer/comms adapter

In the premier range engineer manual in does show and supports ID, i think you need a aditional card for it ?

The Texecom CAN be monitored over the internet now they've brought out an IP module, it CAN also support iD, with an iD expander. Get your facts straight
