FASTCAR
I only have 4 active zones at the moment, 1-4. Zones 5-8 are entered into the disabled suite which I understand will totally disable the zones (ie not monitor them). I have also taken the zones out of the full set option. Is this correct? As when I set the system zone lights 5-8 illuminate (constantly) and go out when the system is finally set, is this normal? Hi , I can't remember ..but that seems correct , similar to omitting zones..its just telling you that those zones are not being monitored. Try adding them back into the Full Set Suite first (but keep them disabled). If it bugs you , replace the links with the resistors , and reinstate the zones. Regards. timothy
Is there no setting on this panel to make sure all zones are closed before the alarm sets?
FASTCAR
did you sort out the first problem?.
arfur mo
Second Question.I have selected the final door set option so the alarm will set 3 seconds after the final exit door has been closed. This is a really useful feature as the misses is always running back into the house to get something. However the feature is causing the alarm to activate. The reason is because in my house, the front door (Zone 1) opens onto a hallway which is monitored by a PIR (Zone 4) the alarm panel is located in the hallway. Zone 4 (the hallway PIR) is set to inhibited entry and zone 1 (on the front door) is set to Entry\exit. When I set the system and leave via the hallway I activate the PIR, shut the door and alarms arms 3 seconds later. However the PIR in the hallway is still active and caused the alarm to go off (ie when I shut the front door, 3 seconds later the PIR is still active and has not reset yet and is causing the alarm). The only way around this is to set the alarm, walk out the door and wait 5 seconds for the PIR to reset and then close the door. If I do this the alarm works fine but is there another way? For example can the 3 seconds on the final door option be extended? i don't use these panels but i think you should be able to increase the period from 3 to say about 10 seconds (look in 'the section which covers entry exit timers). if not simply change to 'timed set' with 15 seconds more time than you normally need. sometimes, especially with older designed detectors they are suceptable to a draft initiated as the door is closed, causing a thermal current in the hall. with a warm house on a cold/windy day it will be more troublesome. this 'set delay' timer is to allow any pir or shock detector to settle before arming, not really to allow for the 'ruling halfs' impatience but is often used for that problem, or kids 'in a rush' too. regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
