lol thanks for all your posts guys, the panel appears to have stopped now! The romec engineer said he was surprised at how badly the system had been installed by the ext contracters We tested the fire alarms today and the internal siren (same one as pa's use) and strobe activated (wasn't particularly loud) for a few seconds secs! Now i'm worried that the panic alarms arent gonna be as loud as they should if they get activated. Could it be the fire sound??

thanks guys!

lol well the fire bells were sounding, then the siren activated along with the yellow strobe light on the ceiling (which activates with pa's anyway) and then after a few seconds stopped! (normally requires key and code to stop pa)! lol it would have been nice if they told me they linked the fire alarm to the intruder alarm seeing as its me who checks the fire call points, doors extinghuishers etc lol!! I guess i'll see what happens next fire alarm test lol The engineer may have programmed it in! the poor guy may as well have got a room there, it would have been easier lolol

Just a wonder really! At work we have had a complete refit and with that brand new alarm system installed, it has galaxy keypads (3 of them at various locations) and every 10 - 15 seconds all the panels let out a bleep! this happens all the time! There romec engineers have been out for various bits and bobs and there is no fault with the system, so I assume it is a feature that makes people aware that it is working?? lol I remember watching them decomming the old one (this wasnt romec) and they were too scared to pull the old bellbox off the wall! It was a very big square Abel one (so big it had a warning about the siren volume on it) with a red strobe that didnt work lol Anyway, what is this odd feature?

Ta!

if its a g3 system the line fault indicator may not have been disabled if the is no comms device. Or if there is no external sounder the tamper return may not have been linked to a permanent 0volts. Another possibility is that the keyholder has an outstanding alarm which has not been acknowledged. It would be interesting to see what the log file shows

Grade 3. Being Romec, I expect so. What line of business are you in?

Edit - Sorry - just read the other replies - I know what line of business you are in now!
