Intruder Alarm Advise ... Pleeaasse

Hi,

I quite like the Texecom kit that appeared to get the majority vote.

The Veritas Excel along with the Speech & Text dialer looks just right.

Where I'm struggling is the wireless key fobs. Is there anything that will integrate well with this unit?

Or do I need to go up to the Premier kit (it seems quite a big jump in features & cost, when the Excel appears to be sufficient)?

My parents are having a remote control garage door installed and want to be able to reset the alarm from their car before opening the door and driving in :raining:

And I guess it would be even better if I could integrate the remote receiver with the garage door so they only need one fob (2 channel)???

(I am/was an electrical engineer so happy to tackle this little challenge)

Maybe I need to look at Gardtec instead?

Any help greatly received

Oh yeah, budget ....

the Gardtec units are 4 button for Off, On (or part set), PAB and a programable auxillary button which can oprate an output for a relay. so as long as your garage door accepts push to open, push to stop, push to close in sequence then no real problem.

don't forget the voice/text dialler is included so on panel cost alone would seem your best option imo, has to be said not as easy as the Texecom panel perhaps to understand, thats why only 'real' engineers use Gardtec and DIY/Sparks use the simpler Texecom ;)

i now wait for the flak lol

Yes Gardtec is for real engineers!!! lol

Mind you i was looking at the Galaxy compact yesterday and it is a very good panel with a lot of features. I will now go and was my mouth out!

Gardtec does seem the best option as does the premier. The Gardtec wireless kit is very good imo.

you can do either from a radio fob depending on programming, i would use on full set only not use the auto part set facility, as this will be selected if your parents set the alarm from outside after leaving the house.
