Hi all,

I have a gardtec 816 panel to install in my new home. I am just in the process of purchasing some new detectors to use with the panel. Am i right to assume most detectors regardless of brand, will work with this panel, if so which ones should i buy?

Many thanks in advance,

Andy

yes that would be correct. same old stories, get the best one you can afford. for the diy market, texecom medusa's are easy to get hold of, they also do a reasonable pet sensor. unless you know somebody in the trade who will get some for you. there are other sources as we all know, but you do not get any guarantee's.

there are lots to choose from. i tend to use quad,s on domestics.

these are my opionions, sure others may give you different advice , hope this helps

Hi Andy,

yes, most standard detectors will fit your panel, but as to which detector would be best is very circumspect. selection is affected by the environment's it is to operate within and the value of the property it is to protect.

rule of thumb use 'dual tec' detectors throughout, as they have a higher resistance to false alarms, but do cost more per unit.
