funnily enough i went to an install today and the sales had forgot to order the sounders.

I looked the idiot.

so there is both sides to the argument.

often as the installation engineer i as i bet others would 'cover' diplomatically such a blooper, perhaps by saying 'they are out of stock', then pass the job back discreetly to be revalued, depends on the firm if they 'pull' the sales guy.

but the sale's guy sort should sort out the client and have the well earned 'red face' when the quoted price has to be increased - tends to make them a bit sharper about checking their spec's after that happens.

Ive never met an engineer yet, who carries that attitude, that has ever risen the ranks or began their own company - they are more content in wallowing in the 'blame culture', plotting their quickest route home, planning their next bacon roll stop.

wierd that because all the sales orders in the world are worth jack if you have no-one to fit them and the best salesmen all make useless engineers ? hmm

There will be far more engineers who made it , here on the forum and out in the real world than salesmen

the thread tittle is -:

Built It, Installed It, Serviced It & Now I'm Sellin' It!, engineer to seller

perhaps

Built It, Installed It, Serviced It & Now I'm 'BS'ing' It!, engineer to seller (wishful thinking)
