bellboi Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Hi All, Firstly what a great site. I'm about to install a Texecom Prem 48 in a new property and wanted to check the power requirements before installing eveything and finding that I should have another PSU to help provide the power, I know the Prem48 has a 1.5amp PSU but I would rather do the job right and have room for expansion than cause a blown fuse and tamper alarm at 2.35am! Although I'm a DIY'er I am ex store operations for a large well known high street retailer and have been using/programming there Alarm systems since the Munford & White days of CPA6's and Modern panels (anyone guessed who I used to work for ? ) I'm about to install a Prem 48 with the following, however something tells me I should install a separate larger PSU (2amp) to run the detection devices off: 1x Prem 48, 3x expanders, 2x RKP's & 3x Speakers 1x Odyssey Sounder 4x Prestige AMDT dual-tecs 6x Impaq+ Shock Sensors 4x Impaq Break Glass 2x Exodus Fire Any "help/advice/rule of thumb" would be great. Thanks All
breff Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Following is a calculation by EN Calculator, Texecom's software for calculating power requirements: You will be best off fitting an additional PSU with an additional 7.2ah battery, use it to power part of the network, negatives must be commoned but DO NOT common positives.
