escalatorman
Hello After upgrading my old hard wired alarm system (Self installed 1994) using texecom parts i noticed that the Oddessy 3 bellbox looks a bit bland and DIY in its plain unmarked style. However I found a security company that sell screen printed decoy and live texecom bellboxes. When you type the logo on web site it is an actual security company. The picture on the ad was such that you could not make out the colour of the lens.; when it arrived the lens was red to match the company logo. I fitted the cover to my live box. The once green comfot lights now apear orange at night Do different companies use alternative colour lens or should they be blue. IE Police Blue Fire Red Doctor Green I still have the blue lens from the original cover so could swap if neccessary. Thank You Regards Escalator man

Thank You Regards Escalator man Not so sure about intruder but the PREFERRED colour for fire is red. However some companies do white strobes that have FIRE ALARM written on them and I have used blue in a factory enviroment where they used green, yellow and red beacons for process indicators which would have been confusing in the event of a fire alarm. I'm starting to ramble again, aren't I......

Hi Thank you for all the replies to my first post I Purchased all the kit from one company. The screen printed decoy box was purchased from the site that cannot be named. As they sell both live and decoy boxes I am not trying to pull a fast one. Also I would not fit it if all they sold was decoys as live box could be identified as one of those decoys. They web site states they do commercial residential and take over installations. May be good advertising for them but depends on how my installation performs. I get the feeling I am starting to open a can of worms here Have the old white cover on standby I was going to use it as rear decoy Once again thank you for the fast reply Regards Escalatorman
