no i'm no longer a mod - so what? and i'm not a registered installer with either NSI or SSAIB so what? it don't make me 'unapproved' by default, simply because i don't pay an unelected quango body for my 'approval' do's it.

always liked reasonable comments, my remarks were aimed at imo what most j/p's perception of our industry is.

Insurrance Co's have standard paragraphs in their policie's, wether they are right or wrong it is for the S.S.A.I.B and NSI to sort out this problem directly with any errant insurrance companies, not for us to give a lecture on the legailities of the subject to an ordinary O/P surely.

As i said i was just making the O/P aware they had a choice, if they had three quotes and liked the s.s.a.i.b guys better why should they be railroaded into using N.S.I, its all about choice.

My point about you not being a mod is that i am not answerable to you nor is any other member and we can all post our thoughts and don't need them judging by you.

it was a simple post to explain to the O/P that they had a choice and you have dragged it off topic and filled the O/P's post with this spam.

no arguement with that from me

My point about you not being a mod (we are off topic again) is that i am not answerable to you (true, but subject to my scrutiny and free comment as you are to every other member) nor is any other member (it's a two way street) and we can all post our thoughts (what even ME?) and don't need them judging by you (it's a free service with every MOT ) (Mo Off Topic).

your post :

Why N.S.I only? your insurance company has no right to say that. S.S.A.I.B is just as good as nacoss silver. or if the member is ISO approved a we are then it is the same as N.S.I gold.

the only thing your insurance company are allowed to say if they dont want nsi silver/s.s.a.i.b is ISO approved only. they are not allowed to discriminate between the two schemes if both companys are ISO.

i underlined the reason for my words, here's my response which is very factual -:

the o/p (like most clients) is after a reduced insurrance premium and a working alarm to achieve it, not a legal battle over badge prefferences.

so where exactely did I go off topic? i think i tried real hard to keep it on target regarding the original quiery

but back you come -:

thankyou for that?

i was informing the OP that he did not have to be forced into using N.S.I only to achive this, and nothing was directd at him. (looked that way to me)i am just pointing out his options as they are often not pointed out by insurance companys. (seemed more like an encirement to war)

i have no desire to get into this with an unapproved installer (off topic No1 in the full glare of the public eye - well it is a forum so OT No2.), and was just trying to help the poster with their choice.

i thought you were no longer a MOD? (and OT No.3).

now read 20# you will see i was still trying to direct the thread back on topic,

to recap, you mentioned i'm no longer a mod, you mention about NSI and SSAIB, you mentioned about me being an (in your words) 'unapproved' installer.

and you then have the brass balls to suggest i went off topic and spammed???? - all you won was a massave show for your lack of comprehension for the written word, and for forgetting your own comments.

i will continue to comment on others post comment as i feel inclined and see fit, but especially on the unfit posts.

I am pretty sure the person who started this topic did not want to discuss in detail the pros and cons of accreditation and the role of the insurer. Initially good advice but it is time to put down the hand bags. I feel this area is not meant for these type of discussions. I know i am not a mod but i also know that this is not what this area is intended for.

I will now wind my neck back in, get onto my moral high horse and gallop off into the sunset.
