tododo Posted July 1, 2007 Author Posted July 1, 2007 If you wanted to get it right, why did you design the system layout yourself? By saying the cables are in you're saying you know where the control panel, keypads and detectors need to be.From what I've seen, and I've been lurking here a while, some of the key reasons you use a professional are: 1. Properly designed system that meets the assessed risk/threat effectively 2. Cables very well hidden and protected with minimal disturbance to decoration etc. 3. Control unit and cables placed so that the system is secure against interference 4. Availability of Police response 5. Ongoing support and maintenance You seem to have missed out some of the most important ones already and now want a pro to do the bits that are, for him, probably less challenging or interesting. It would have been better to get them in at the start and if you want to do some work yourself agree that with them; overall cost pretty similar but result much better. Well the professional that came round seem quite happy with the lay out to be honest. I did query that there may be interferance from eletrical cable and he didnt seem to worried about it. do it yourself - i feel you wont be happy with work done by someone who knows the rules and regs and tbh im glad you hadnt called me Me too If I wanted a cheap job I could have had the sparky to do it or as others have said a guy down the pub......I didnt want that I have only come on here for advise on a good system to install thats all.....theres a load of choice on the market What Im trying to get at is that I dont want to pay a load for installing a cheap system I dont mind paying for a good system and also the assocated costs to install such a good system, is that a problem

Guest anguscanplay Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 Guys If you dont have anything constructive to say please don't, there has been quite a few people complaining in open forum about the attitude of some on here and thats not what its aboutregs FCE i personaly would consider calling the profit based on an unreaslitic price of the compenents " having an attitude to start with " hence the " advice " given to basicly start again and ask for specific advise ie my reply that the texecom was old and outdated
