Hi all, does anyone know if there are any security lights on the market which can be switched permanantly and also by built on pir? I know theres the gjd stuff, but only looking for a general purpose cheap one. cheers

yeah love em - also overides them when the power dips at dusk so you`re burning watts all night

quick word of warning by definition these lights will be outside so any work comes under the remit of part p of the building regs so make sure you notify building control before you start

yep - otherwise the really onerous rules and regs start to apply

check you can wire an override as some units can't be backfed - blew one up last year...

unfortunately not...

worked a few times then flickered lots, dimmed & flickered then refused to work again...

when I took it apart the control module with light sensor & pir smelt the usual singed way...

and whats better is that the supplier exchanged it (even with me telling the truth!!)
