aritech cs350 install problem

Hello all,

i'm at the end of my rope !!

I'm having some problems getting the above panel to work.

The zone for the front door is setup as entry/exit. (i'm calling this zone1)

I've tested the magnetic contact with a multimeter and i get a circut when the door is closed and it breaks when the door is open so all is ok there

On my aritech panel, when i leave a 4k7 resistor in the 2 contacts for zone1, it says the zone is closed.

When i remove the resistor and put in the two wires for the mag contact from the door it says the zone is open.

If i put in the 2 wires and a resistor it still says that the zone is open.

If i put a resistor directly on to the mag contatcsat the door, the panel says that the zone is closed if the door is OPEN.

If I can get this 1st zone going the rest will be a doddle.

I'm not going to use the panel in DUAL mode but in ALARM mode only.

Do I need to modify the setup of the panel in any other way to make this zone work ?

Do I even need to use the resistors ?

Any help would be very much appreciated

Alan

Howdy, would be better if used the panel in dual mode, sounds to me as if youve got a fault on the cable, possibly down to earth ??

Never had any probs with these panels, like all aritechs, they only seem to play up if theres an earth fault on the cable.

Hope this helps

Hello again,

I've checked the cables and all the wires to a zone work ok. the one i want to get going first is the front foor then i can do all the rest myself. I've tested the door contact (a magnetic break sensor) with a multimeter and when the door is closed i get a loop but when it opens it breaks so all is ok there.

I've tried using dual mode but this wouldn't work either. how do i wire the contacts with the resistors to get this going ?

Hi Alan, put the resistor into the loop. Connect one end of the resistor into the first terminal of zone 1, connect the other end of the resistor to one of your wires coming from the contact, connect the other wire from the contact directly into the second terminal of zone one.

I hope this helps if not let me know and I'll E-mail you a diagram.
