As I am new to CCTV I have a question about x-vision.

I am looking to fit cctv to my house and as I am a electrician should be able to do it myself (maybe)???

I have come across x-vision on the Y3K site and to me it looks ok.

I am looking at a couple of cameras and a seperate netwok DVR.

Please can anyone rate this equipment for me, would it be suitable for what I want. I would rather pay more for reasonable quality.

Thanks

i use the jpeg2000 dvrs and have at least 25-30 out there

in fact i prefer them to DM and thats saying something.

And why might that be exactly?

By what parameters are you comparing them?

1stly ease of setup

2ndly cost

3rdly ability to update the hdd on site

4thly appearence

5thly the remote control looks nice

6thly there is also a remote keyboard available

that sums it up for the time being.

your all forgeting the single most important thing with a dvr - event managment , nothing beats the motion detected thumbnails on the DM system

So nothing about actual performance and fit for purpose then?

The remote looks nice. Pretty objective comparison then eh?
