Guest Jlo
Hi, I am not an installer but am interested in security and alarms etc. I have a tradional bells only alarm set up in my house (pofessionally fitted) but if I move somewhere more remote I will definitaty go monitered. My question is why do some companys like //.National Installer.// in there residential packages only offer a dummy bell box on the outside? You just get a internal siren? I think if I moved I would go to a local company and have bells and monitored alarm. I think the deterant value of the bell box having a flashing led and the fact if it is attacked it will alert the ARC. (I know you won't get a police reponse untill a second sensor it trigered) but at least you will get a key holder resonse. I just feel if you cant afford to link up with redcare and you have exposed phone cables then once your line is cut all you are relying on is the internal siren. I would much prefer to have an external siren wailing as well. What you you pro's feel about this and what do you advice your clients? PS found this forum very interesting and as this is my first post I hope it ends up in the correct place!! Kind Regards James
Guest Jlo
Hi Pete, Thanks for the feedback. What you say makes sense. I think if I move somwhere remote I will pay the mony and get dualcom over worrying about a live external bell box. If the alarm company offer both for a good price then that's even better. Thanks again. James
