haveago
I installed an Accenta8 a littel while ago and had a power problem to the house recently. The kpd stopped working but was still backlit so looking in the forum I saw that it could be related to battery; hence replace the battery. Had a spare kpd which I also replaced. However, during the resetting due to complete power loss I tried re-commissioning and all seemd to be going OK. When I try to set the full set or partial set it always sets the alarm off and points at Zone1 on the kpd. Zone1 is the EuroViper detector which I also replaced (had a spare) but can't remember what the settings on the dip switches was. So can anyone help - using 6core wiring. The position of the dip switches wont make that much difference, they are for LED enable and double knock, maybe the viper is u/s , try shorting out the viper to check the system sets ok

FASTCAR
Check that you have power to the viper..does it light up when tapped?.You could have blown a fuse when swopping the rkp or the viper.
haveago
Yes, the Viper has power OK. The red light flashes continuously untill I go to Service Mode then it stops. After I go back to day mode the light doesn't come back on again until I either tap the viper or open the door - it then flashes continuously again.
