Guest hopabout
We have an 8 year old Accenta alarm system on a 3 bed room bungalow with connecting door to garage. We have exits through front, back and garage door each with a keypad. The installer has now retired and we have no appointed installer. We have recentlly installed a power closer on the up and over garage door and need to reset the entry delay so that we can open the garage door, drive into the garage, get out of the car and walk over to the alarm pad and enter the code to cut off the alarm. The alarm time is currently 20 seconds. How does one reset the exit/entry timer delay, please?

Depending on the alarm model you may only have the option of 30 seconds maximum anyway which may not be adequate, so a different solution will probably be needed. As your installer has retired it's probably a good time to get a new contract for support & maintenance, have the system checked etc. But start by getting some proposals for a feasible solution to the problem. No doubt someone will be along soon to say how this is "normally" done so you'll have some ideas of what is possible....
nikko
My solution to this when I was on domestics, was to have a DT doing the garage protection, and a n/o contact on the up and over door to put a shunt on the DT while it was opened. This meant that the EE time was irrelevant. I went up into the attic...I found a Stradavarius & a Picasso. Unfortunately..... Stradavarius couldn't paint, and Picasso made a shocking fiddle. If you didn't/don't know how to do this correctly you should not be in this business. Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care. FASTCAR
Hi , You just need a shunt circuit wiring into the control board or courtesy light, this will overide the alarm zone , giving time to disarm. A good installer will know what to do. Regards.

You ever tried forcing an up & over that's held by an automatic opener? I went up into the attic...I found a Stradavarius & a Picasso. Unfortunately..... All it needs it a simple reprogramming/alteration with someone who is familar with this panel paul THE BLACK KNIGHT "Any comments / opinions posted are my opinion only and do not represent those of my employer or Company." Guest Dave the alarm man
Never had one broken into. nikko
not personally as I find housebreaking clashes with my day job however the manual release is the vulnerable bit Point taken Dave We used to only do this where there was a personnel door too. This meant we could leave out the external manual release, coz if the mains went off they could release from inside. I went up into the attic...I found a Stradavarius & a Picasso. Unfortunately.....
