Is it possible to replace the old Optima 2 Plus RKP with the new Accenta RKP or does anyone have a simpler / better solution ?????????

No its not the same (but why would you want to?) Its better to replace the panel with something a little nicer with more features ect.

Thanks for the reply Peter,

Well apart from a damaged keypad, thge system has never false alarmed and the customer like it! As much as I would like to spend someone elses money for them, I thought I'd just give them a chance of an easy ride for once......he he

Maybe you are right , but do you know for sure that they won't talk to each other?

Yes Peter is correct. When the EU regulation about all electronic parts/equipment having to be recycled ADE took the opertunity to introduce their new Accenta range. They did keep the basic programme options the same between the new Accenta and old Optima range to help the trade to progress.

The only problem they had was the name hence why the confusion between the old Optima / XM / 2+ then Accenta/ Optima.

Take his advice and replace it to what I call a new Front End. ie panel ,keypad,

external sounder, panel battery (and make sure the mains supply is wired via a fused spur)

I have never tried to wire one up but I did speak to ADE when they first commisioned the Accenta and stopped making the Optima about 10 years ago, and was told they were not using the same protocalls.

But the Accent 8 panel (with rkp) is about £5.00 more than an Accenta 8 rkp it would take about an hour to change I dont understand what your thinking you would save by this ?

And if the panel goes six month down the line you have actually cost more money than you've saved.

Sometimes its cheaper to do it properly than to try and bodge it.
