danhitchcock Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Hi, I've recently decided to replace my old TECSAFE 250 alarm panel with a Eurosec one from Screwfix. The TECSAFE had two sounders on the outside of the house and I'd like to keep these because they are still working and the batteries are still OK in them. In the TECSAFE 250 alarm panel only one cable comes in from both bell boxes. The TECSAFE manual describes the connections as: AP250 Panel..........................Bell Box SAB Module Bell - -------- black ---------------------> SW- NEG Bell + -------- red ---------------------> +ve Stb - -------- green ---------------------> Strobe - Stb + -------- white ---------------------> Strobe + SCB -------- yellow---------------------> -ve SCB -------- blue ---------------------> ret - Firstly, is the bellbox a SAB or an SCB unit- the connection in the alarm panel has SCB, connections whereas the bell box is labelled as a SAB. Secondly, how do I make the right connections? My new Eurosec panel has the following connections: SAB TMP Bell Hold - Bell - Bell + Strobe + Strobe - Ignoring the strobe as these are obvious, how do I connect the bell box up? There is an option that can be set on the Eurosec so that bell mode can be set to SAB or SCB. When set to SAB the bell - terminal will switch when the alarm is triggered. When set for SCB the bell+ terminal is + and the bell - terminal is - . Any help would be very much appreciated!!!
