PhilH Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Hi all I've got a client with a TS900 system that's been working for years and years, and suddenly this evening the system alarms with a "REM REMOVED" message on the keypads (of which there are 3). Is it safe for me to assume that one of the keypads has died a horrible death, and needs replacing (fortunately, I supplied them with a spare keypad and spare node all those years ago!!). Or may something more sinister be lurking in the depths? Phil

breff Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Could be cable fault (rodents springs to mind), I'd change the offending keypad/Lec and go from there. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

CompostCORNER Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 The 'Rem Removed'. Did the REM vanish completely and permanently or was it just a momentary thing?
PhilH Posted August 23, 2007 Author Posted August 23, 2007 Hi all Over the course of a couple of hours, all three REM's were removed, in succession, then re-added. The log read something like... 6:45.10 REM REMOVED 3 6:45.11 REM REMOVED 2 6:45.11 REM REMOVED 1 6:45.15 REM ADDED 1 6:45.16 REM ADDED 2 6:45.17 REM ADDED 3 It did this several times, like I said over a couple of hours. If the REM's were daisy-chained, I could be persuaded to consider a cable fault, but they are all wired directly to the main panel, not even to a NODE, so I guess it's a software glitch / power surge / SNAFU. I reset it and waited on site for a couple of hours, and nothing happened. If it happens again (it shouldn't because I touched loads of wood), I will do a factory reset and re-program, just in case the working code is corrupt. Happy days! Phil

BUSTER Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Check the aux load, possible power supply problem. Any comments / opinions posted are my opinion only and do not represent those of my employer or Company
