I've had this happen with a USB-Com but not a PC-Com.

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

just a shot in th darkbut perhaps software version don't match the panel version?

not all usb to serial converters are equal, some cane simulate irc's but other's can't.

go back to texacom tech help ask for the list of compatible converters and check that sw revision. tbh. unless your working excessively on these panels all the time why bother with udl?

Hi alan,

Thanks for the info, i will contact texecom to see what they have to say,

I didnt get the cd when i purchased the pc-com cable (shame on *** i wont name them!) so downloaded the software from the texecom site, I use the serial cable not the USB version that emulates a serial port, The software has a menu to select the panel i use IE: veritas excel so i guess its the right one.

The reason i wish to use the UDL software is my brother has his own electrical company, his wireing is very neat and tidy (he does the hard work i do the programming). I program the panels for him so i rather set it up on my PC then just dump the config to the pannels rather than spend time pushing buttons on the key pad.

cheers, Nick

An Excel can be programmed from the keypad quicker than booting the laptop and entering the panel details into the software. If you want to program circuit text you will have to do it via the keypad anyway, all text is stored in the keypad, not the panel.
