buges Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Hi Im Have a problem with a texecom odyssey 1e external sounder, When connecting to the controlpanel (texecom veritas excel) It drops the voltage from the control panel from 13.3v to 7.5v After alittle playing around i cut the wiring to it & checked the voltages. With the sounder unattached the control panel gives out 13.3v half way up the cable run (about 20m) as soon as i attach just the 12v supply only to the sounder (on the otherhalf of the cable run) it drops to 7.5v. I have checked all i can without removing the sounder from the wall (no wires shorting in cable) & making up a temp cable to check. Sounder is set to S.A.B. System @ The mo is veritas excel with 2 keypads & 5 PIR's (that shouldnt been to much for the contrilpanel to power!) Any one else had this??? or am i gonna have to go up the ladder & remove it in the morning. Thanks
breff Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 You're gonna have to get your ladder out and measure the cable at the bell (with it disconnected) to prove bell or cable. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
BestGear Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Are you mating these pair up for the first time, or has it failed in service? DJ
Guest anguscanplay Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Bet its full of water - you will need to check at the box , make sure you understand ladders
justin Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Faulty bell. Supprised it's not blowing the fuse.

Guest anguscanplay Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 up the ladder tmw, i'll make a new temp lead to test it, checked fuse's all A ok.... check its the correct rating too
markovitch Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 check its the correct rating too Sounds like a bellbox problem imo,do a continuity check of all the bell cables to double check.
