thedean Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Hi The above system is fitted in a house I have recently moved into. Apparently if the standby battery runs empty, the alarm will sound. Obviously this isn't a problem if the power supply is kept constant , but the other day I was doing some DIY which required shutting off power in the house and...I forgot to switch back on again for about 12 hours. We are going on holiday soon and I am afraid that if for some reason we have a power cut, the battery will be empty and the alarm will sound with no-one there to switch it off. So...do I need to replace the battery? Can I do it myself? (I have the engineers codes) And where do I get a battery from? Many thanks for your help

In the event of a power cut however your new battery will only sustain the alarm system for approx 8 to 10 hours.
