Texecon Com 2400 - Coms Failure Message

Recommended Posts

I have already posted this question on the General Security forum, but it should have been here as it is a DIY question.

Texecom premier 24 - com2400

My alarm is now fully installed and working, altough I have 1 question concerning the Com 2400 SMS.

After tripping the alarm the message arrives to my mobile but takes approx 4 to 5 mins to arrive, is this normal (I'm no expert on SMS text's). This has already been answered (didn't know a text took 5 minutes !).

However, after the text is delivered the keypad shows a coms failure fault message (could this be a result of the text taking more time than it should?). I'll add the system settings if this will help in any diagnosis.

Regards Graham

Thanks Dave, I haven't any account no's set up as the text goes directly to my mobile, also the 'format' do you mean the protocol to communicate with the ARC, if so I have this selected as SMS messaging.

My parameter set up is as follows:

ARC 1 - SMS

ARC 2 - Disabled

Pri no. - my mobile

Acc. No - not selected

Dialling attempts - 3

cheers

got more than one module on a com port (s)?

Only 1 module fitted, the com2400 and this is set up as com port 1 with com port 2 is disabled.

As per instructions there are 2 SMS service centre no.s pre programmed.............just a thought.......do I need both no.s programmed, also I take it that the SMS text goes to my mobile via one of these no.s, is this a factor in why the text takes 5 minutes to reach me.

Thanks again, cheers Graham
