Guest ryza Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Hello I'm from Poland and working as a en engineer of security camera systems and alarm system. I would like to know what kind of dokuments should I have to install such systems in England (maybe such permision is not necessary )(from the 1 may Pole could get a legal job in England). It's about that I have no idea if it would be possible as a foreigner get a job in a company that specializes in such direction (alarm systems). Could You tell me also what is the chance to find a job in this craft. Maybe have you some work-proposal for me:). In a security system I have worked for 5 years. So far I know from WWW sites some part os alarm equipment used in England is similar to Poland, but is a smaller part. Would it be possible from your side to send me the names of companies and equipments are most popular in England. I would be if I received smoe specification of them. Maybe it is enough from begining.
Guest dale Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 The main panel manufacturers in the UK are: ADE - www.ade.co.uk Ademco Microtech (Now Honeywell) - www.ademcomicrotech.co.uk Intellisense (Now Honeywell) - See above! Pyronix - www.pyronix.co.uk Texecom - www.texe.com Gardtec - www.gardtec.co.uk Scantronic - www.scantronic.co.uk (Now Cooper Menvier) Menvier - www.menvier.co.uk (Now Cooper Menvier) Im sure there is probably one or two ive missed, but these are the main ones I see on a day to day basis. The most popular in domestic systems are the Texecom's veritas series, with the ADE in close second (this is in South Yorkshire, not sure about nationally!). The most popular commercial systems are the Ademco Microtech Galaxy's, followed by Menviers networker - even though I prefer the Texecom Premier!!! (Again this is just south yorkshire, couldnt tell you nationally.... mebe we should have a vote?). Good luck in your job hunting. Dale

Guest Peter James Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Hi Ryza Welcome to the forums your not the first Pol to think this way my company have already recieved a couple of C.V's. There is a shortage of skilled engineers in the uk but you will need to at least familiarise youself with some of the standards our E.N. standards are still different to the rest of Europe. My advise would be to send your C.V. electronically to as many U.K. companies you can find on the net and see what replies you get. Good luck Peter James
