Hi All,

How should this be done in complience with new regs?

I have a double socket on the inside of an outside wall (if that makes sence) and I want a double socket outside at the bottom of the garden attached to the fence (approx 10m)

Thanks in advance.

Morning BOO - so you want to fit a socket down the garden ? can be done in a DIY fashion but it involves your local council building control officer ( BCO ) building notices, testing, certifying and small change from a couple of hundred quid - on top of the actual cost of doing the work due to the requirments of Part P of the building regs.

alternativly ring an approved installer

good angus ;) you were gentle on him.

i would just roll out the extention when you need it, unless you want power 10m away for a reason, not yet explained, but beware it is not just a little job.... :)

could always drill into house and fit a plug

only joking so please don't do that,

water and mains voltage are not good bed fellows especially where safety is concerned so please have the works done by a qualified electrician, as at least then if the wife gets electrocuted - you will have someone to buy a drink for sue
