Guest anguscanplay Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 why did the poster choose this trade? i sometimes think people think it will be easy and can get to grips with it quickly. army career advisors - I often get asked by customers ( or their family ) who are leaving the forces if it`s worth trying to get " into alarms, It`s easy and can be learnt quickly, after all it`s only connecting by numbers" getting good is where it hurts LOL
secboy Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 If i were you i would get qualifications in electrics and /or telephones/IT networks, then once you have that basis of training you can get training from suppliers(some free) to apply to the electronic security industry the problem with getting the training from an employer is that you are a valuable asset when out on site even if only cable pulling but are an over head when on training courses so that although it makes sense to train it costs money and is difficult to get take full advantage of the army scheme to train leavers and if they will let you do training on all of the above, regards Paul.
