alarmguy Posted May 31, 2004 Posted May 31, 2004 been on-call since saturday, 1 phone call, doing a 1 in 3 shift at the moment hardly ever go out, which the bosses have just caught up with and dobled the area and cut the money! oh how we love working for the americans
Security Technician Posted May 31, 2004 Posted May 31, 2004 we were on 1 in 8 but 1 guy left to work on projects department commissioning new jobs so he get`s to drop off call out rota then that left 1 in 7 so the senior engineer played his joker and decided it was time to drop off, what a marvelous thing it is sat around waiting for the palm top to bleep or phone to ring with a call!!! makes me wish that sometimes i was still an apprentice haha

I have to keep 5days accrued holidays spare for the christmas closedown but do not get any leu days when on call during the holiday apart from the public holidays. Is this the norm in the industry ??? taa Scouse
Oxford Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 When I worked for a national we only got lieu days if we were on call on bank hols. Then 1 days holiday extra or a days money + 4 hours overtime and time if we were out on call over 4 hours we'd get an hour for an hour.
