So me thinks the has been and the amateur both owe me yet another apology - and Arfur when I said " can you smell gas .." it was a play on members of the public not been corgi registered, obviously the wit was too much for you so from now on when there is a funny post could all the trade guys use red text so arfur knows it is such ( you just stick to everything in red as always alan )

see above for an example

this whole thing would have died had you either trounced me with the dual enabling - which you did not so obviusly did not know about either or simply said 'well spotted'. but having had a go at me no way was you getting let off the hook, so you decide to try and bellitle instead of place a decent point, proven to be real bad tactics when dealing with me.

the example you gave and (have so conveniently forgotten) was that you gave the restrictions on those who work on gas installations and the ramificatoions involved, and comparing them the dangers of working on a garden shed power point/alarm systems,

that imo made about as much sense to the o/p as comparing lighting fire a garden fire work and making your own thermonuclear bomb.

as opposed to waffling on and on about everything but the topic under discusion?

er no it wasnt but I can`t be bottomed to go find the real thread

that imo made about as much sense to the o/p as comparing lighting fire a garden fire work and making your own thermonuclear bomb.

thats because your on record as saying you prefer to let the diyer do the work wrong and it doesnt affect you anymore now your an IT comms wirer but still post as if your fully up to date with the latest rules and regs and products - see this whole thread for an example

wants a hard wired one ask the alarm firm,

as a stop gap ensue router is off before alarm is set, far from idea for pa ect......

Thanks,

Modem (no router) is always switched off when I use the alarm and always has been. (old one was USB)

Thought I'd just use one of those supplied with the modem.

I'll get a hard wired one.

Brado - is there a dialler, digi or redcare actually connected or are you just reading the bumf that came with your BB package ?

twice this year I have been called out because the BB providor blamed the alarm when it was an audible only system

Arf aug, read the content....

For the moment I have disconnected the line, but it permanently shows the fault on the display

DC3/ DC54/ DC58, I guessing as everyone else don't seem to bother to put the line fault relay on

I didn't fit the alarm, but I have used the telephone socket in the alarm box , to set 2 numbers for it to connect to when triggered.

I would call it a dialer

It does work and gives out my message.

ah well in that case it isn`t monitored in the sense we pro`s are arguing over - just fit a plug in filter and job done
