Hi Angus, I think you're getting confused now, please stop taking Arfur's medication for a while...

Firstly, lighten up.

Secondly I think you're confusing me with someone else - just go back and look at how little I've actually posted in this thread.

Thirdly your amusing "debate" with Arfur was nothing to do with me - I didn't participate in it, just added the odd "aside".

1) er no idea what your on about comms guy

2) as opposed to waffling on and on about everything but the topic under discusion?

3) er no it wasnt but I can`t be bottomed to go find the real thread

4) thats because your on record as saying you prefer to let the diyer do the work wrong and it doesnt affect you anymore now your an IT comms wirer but still post as if your fully up to date with the latest rules and regs and products - see this whole thread for an example

regards back

angus

1) dual enabling as in red care AND adsl enabled on the same line

2) Really? topic description = Broadband And Ts700 Microfilter - sp remind me who was it got onto red care then?

3) lazy begger, i'm surprised you even bothered to get up.

4) what did you just say to me in 2)? now here we go again (can i refer you back to your remark in 2) now?), but as you want to again go off topic just like you did with red care by the way and pursue this, i said "his world will not fall in if he did not get the works certified" and went on to exsplan about other aspects why he should, which was informative, accurate factual and best advice - so i agree, totally unlike yours, which was high handed and scoulding a fully grown adult, so best you give respect if you ever expect to receive angus.

Now i refer you back to 2) and you say wonder off topic - don't be such a clown

what this forum seriously needs is an emocation showing a foot firmly in the mouth, would just save so much typing where angus is concerned

From a broadband perspective every telephony type device should be separated from broadband signals via a filter. Where and how many are needed depends on the topology of your wiring. Ideally filtering should be as close to the master socket as possible.

This is for the benefit of BOTH broadband AND telephony devices.

not actually correct

Oh dear me :angry2:

Redcare is a third type of signal on the line.

Off the top off my head I don't know or care if it needs filters, gumboots, wet towels or whatever to separate it from telephones or broadband.

The OP didn't ask about Redcare so as the man says "calm down dears".

no it doesnt

Wrong, no mistake as I didn't mention it. It's not a telephony device, it's Redcare which is "the third way"

yes it is

It has a REN of 1 according to BT here: http://www.redcare.bt.com/installers/train...ion/redcare.htm

so it does,

was just clearing up the mistakes in case the next guy with a TS700 did have redcare. LOL

Angus ( calm down- me ? that wouldnt be right now, would it ? )

ah well in that case it isn`t monitored in the sense we pro`s are arguing over - just fit a plug in filter and job done

i'd just add - and don't worry about the red care either  but please test it works to the numbers you want afterwards
