ispy Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Oh no theyre not... Well from my past experiences as a contracts manager i got the best install practices from subbies that were sparks because they were apprentice trained and conciencious where as most muppets that called them self subbies turned out to be just glorified cable pullers. ve hav ze nolij or if not we ask!!!!
ispy Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 me too, I assume you mean EN 50131 / PD 6662, though I doubt unless your ssaib / nsi your own, or have read the standards, do much Grade 4? completely the other way, I used to get clients thinking the install was a wirefree one, where a sparks works in an ocupied house a big bag of browning is called for Dave i was responsible for installing such systems when i was a contracts manager so eating standards for breakfast was part and parcel. and of course the company was approved, as i often dealt with the inspectors as no other person was capable. as for grades 4 yes i have completed a few but most systems in everyday commercial only need to be grade3. PD6662 in my book was only an interim until EN50131 was implemneted fully so now its not called for, but what would i know i'm only a mere subby ve hav ze nolij or if not we ask!!!!
Baracus Posted October 22, 2007 Author Posted October 22, 2007 I had a feeling this thread would generate a lot of varied responses....! TBH I didnt even know there were regulations for Intruder Systems as a lot of the main installers over here arent to particular on how they leave a job. I sometimes refer to them as Javelin throwers, tie the cables on to a length of conduit and launch it across the ceiling
