hi

we've had an optimax L6 alarm system working fine since we moved in 5 years ago, but last night the internal sounder went off for no apparent reason, it then went off 3 hours later and then again at 4 & 6 this morning. the battery in the control box was changed last year so i dont think it's that. can anybody help?

thanks

kevin.

What lights came up on the panel when it was doing this?

Hi

The only lights that came on were the power light and the green day light, there was no tamper light illuminated.

No zone or Attack LEDs? I've never heard of an alarm going off without some indication on the control panel.

Hi antinode

I was thinking, could it possibly be the battery in the bell box running low?

hi antinode

apologies, i have just checked the alarm memory recall and it says that it was a tamper fault (sorry), my problem now is finding out where it fault is.

hithe weather was a bit cold last night but nothing too bad, and we havn't had any work done either, but thanks anyway for your help. i phoned up an engineer and he said that it could be the bell box and told me how to disable the tamper circuit, which i've done so hopefully i wont have anymore problems (or early mornings)thanks again for your help.regardskevin
