I gather about 40,000(?) were installed before the BS80 Super came out in Feb '83 Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care.
arfur mo Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 your taking me way back to my youth dear boy. Shield Protection (now gone am lamented) the firm i worked for, like many others produced their own panels. but when the MD decided to sell up to 'enrich' the companies financial 'status' he bought any tin pot firm he could lay his hands on just for the contracts. nett result, we got lumbered with panels like that connected to 10 or more ultrasonics on zone 1, and 6 on zone 2 (or part) allowing 'part set' either could also have 20 or more door contacts connected. back then, service engineers had to be real men to survive, not like you lot of namby pambies with your calibrated meters - you just don't know your born in comparison to what we had to fix, and be severely rollocked if you did not do so 1st time every time regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!

Started work with a company who shall remain nameless, on the Thursday of my first week I phoned them to say that the car was parked ...... keys in the exhaust and that I did not want to be associated with a firm that was doing nothing other than installing service faults that were untraceable. Never mind the twist joints under the carpet on a concrete floor that had oxidised in 3 weeks!!!!! Unfortunately they kept on and eventually sold out to one of the nationals, made Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care.
