markovitch Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 We fit nothing but Duel-techs now Good idea on commercial and monitored systems, but imo good quality pirs for domestics are perfectly adequate.
Guest anguscanplay Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Good idea on commercial and monitored systems, but imo good quality pirs for domestics are perfectly adequate. we do so few non comms that it`s as easy to use the same scanners all round
barooga Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 i always consider kitchens and conservatories as 'hostile' environments, often timed cookers get switch on so the meal is ready on arrival, also most likely area's for small windows to be left ajar to allow the cooking smells to abate. also if they have kids then will they get to look after 'joey the rabbit' for half term. so where is it kept? in the kitchen or conservatory .no matter how many times you tell the client, they will always leave a kitchen window open a few notches, so a dual tec in the kitchen is a very very good precaution. Quite. Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional
arfur mo Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 This is the reason i hate domestic installs, I spend about an hour doing a RA and 3/4 page quote to find joe public is fishing for info to do a poor DIY job, even on the big quotes your never sure if you have even a chance against the 'favourite' installer, being used as a price thermometer so the client knows if he is beeing rooked is not unusual eaither, a bit like 'get 3 quotes' tro apear above board. theis guy might still fit his own system but the installer might get the cctv or door entry out of the visit or even the alarm if at a sensible price, so you never know. regs alan. If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!

I`d agree, every sales lead is a chance, blind them with your obvious higher skill, knowledge and experiance then charge them a premium for the privelege - works for us every time LOL
