nitro
hello there, i have a rs232 module online with the galaxy 60 ok but i just cannot get the galaxy gold to connect to the module via d9 com port (rear of laptop)to the d25 port (rs232 mod) using a rs232 cable purchase from well know electronic shop. i have set the baud rate to 1200,stop bits=1,data bits=8,parity=even,transmission=rs232 on the module and the laptop com port 1 set at same setting as above. i have been tweaking various connection/setting to no joy, have i miss any others option??? the galaxy gold keep coming up 'cannot communicate with remote module' can anyone shed a light in this matter?? You sure you got the right cable?? Check continuity between the the relevant pins between both D types Can't comment specifically for the above but it is usually: 9W - 25W P2 (Tx) - P2 P3 (Rx) - P3 P5 (0v) - P7 Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional

arfur mo
You sure you got the right cable??Check continuity between the the relevant pins between both D types Can't comment specifically for the above but it is usually: 9W - 25W P2 (Tx) - P2 P3 (Rx) - P3 P5 (0v) - P7 i would add there are 2 types of lead 1) serial (direct pin to pin like an extension lead) 2) null modem (reverses ie P2 - P3 and P3 - P2) as used with er! modems you will need the right one for it to work regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
