Dazzer Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Hi guys hope your all well, can someone help us with this problem: We don't subscribe to British Gas alarm service anymore and don
alterEGO Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 hello, First off your system needs looking at, although you may not arm the system it is still working away 24hrs/365 days a year. so a service contract would be a very good idea and they can find out why you don't use the alarm and how best to help with that. Your contract dosn't have to be with DYNO[new name for BG alarms] it can be with a local firm, most of which will take on all model panels, just check first. As for the phone issue, i hate to state the obvious but disconnect the alarm system form the telephone line should help
arfur mo Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 hi Dazzer, i'm not familiar with the panel but someone who is will be along soon as people get in from work. possibly you phone line fault is why the panel started bleeping then a another likely the problem could be you have a flat standby battery, but now seems to have jammed the panel. so looks like you might have to bite the bullet and ask a local company to sort it out, explain the situation and get a price for the call out which should be cheaper in normal working hours (or a possible heart attack outside of them). regs alan Hi guys hope your all well, can someone help us with this problem:We don't subscribe to British Gas alarm service anymore and don If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
Dazzer Posted November 19, 2007 Author Posted November 19, 2007 Thanks for the above chaps. The only propblem disconnecting the phone line from the alarm is that, its all wired from within the BT wall socket. And unless they was neon lights flashing on the correct cable I wouldn't have a clue...

They now deal with BG systems. The cost is going to be about
Alarm Protection Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 It should take less than an hour to disconnect the system from the phone line. Try a local installer! !
advancedprotection Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 firstly press * 2 on the keypad to see what the problem is. sounds like it may be a battery. i would recommend ringing dyno-secure to carry out a service on the system. Sounds like the battery has gone low, if you were monitored and have cancelled, you will have a failed to comm error. The alarm has siezed the line and wont release it. It needs a reboot and comms turning off. Get Dyno in to sort it, or if you mail me your number I can dial into it and reset the system. There are a few other options that need to be adjusted aswell. The older I get, the faster I was.
