C&k Securit 800l Going Off Regularly At 06:00

Hi

Have a C&K 800L. Been in the house for ages with no problems.

Recently if has started triggering every few days at EXACTLY 06:00. Doesn't happen every day but when it does happen it's always at 06.00 - you could set your watch by it.

All I can think is that the electric company have started doing some kind of switch over at 6am and that a surge or drop in voltage is causing problems.

I have checked the battery and charing fuse and have simulated a full power loss and all seems OK so there is something distinctly odd about this.

When it triggers it's as if the entry zone has been activated as the panel beeps (but a more rapid beep than the normal entry route sound) before eventually going off (if I don't wake up fast enough and hurl myself down the stairs!).

Not really sure what do do about this...I will write to the power company but suspect that will get me nowhere!

Would even consder replacing the main PCB in case it is a component out of tellerance.

Does anyone know where I can buy just the PCB for the C&K Securit 800L?

I had wondered if it might be my central heating spiking the mains as it does come on at 06.00 on weekdays but it is set later on weekends and the problem has happened on a Saturday at 06.00.

Any other thoughts on cause/cure would be great as I'm sure I'm driving the neighbours mad.

Many thanks for any help you can offer

Jonathan

P.S. Edited to add email notify!

I'd slightly change the timing on the CH first, just a few minutes, to see what happens.

Have a look here: http://www.actmeters.com/1313-1414-Spike-Suppressors.php and if you're electrically competent think about testing for interference (need a multimeter) and fitting a suppressor.

Thanks for the suggestion...have already changed the time to see what happens but it does happen at weekends too even when timer is set differently.

Will see what happens now

Thanks for the idea of the suppresor

I must admit i canot remember but does the e/e timer get faster the longer you leave it on these [like an optima?]

any how i would try a new door contact as off the rough info you gave on here it may well be the fault, the only reason to doublt that diagnosis is the 06:00 thing. but its a cheap way to find out.

Alao when way you battery last replaced, as they can appear to work even when it has faults, if it was replaced over 3yrs ago get it swapped.

Good Luck

Ah ha!!

Thanks for the suggestion...I must have been wrong about it going off at weekends even tho's the heating was set a a different time.

I change the time clock by ten mins (it's a digital jobby) and lo and hehold the alarm went of ten mins later. The thermostate near to PIR1 (the entry one). No idea why it has just started doing this....perhaps dirty contacts on the stat or something.

I will look at getting a filter and will poss also set the PIR to double tap (I presume it's on single).

Haven't solved this but getting warmer (excuse the punn!)

Thanks for the help

Jonathan
