beeco Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 I live in a student house which is fitted with a newlec nl5702n fire system. Last night all the downstairs lights went out which for some reason made the alarm go off. We entered the code but the box keeps on beeping and the power fault and general fault lights are on. This has kept me up all night so any help would be great.

Sounds like you have already done this? Possibly the power outage has allowed the internal back up battery to discharge to a point where it cannot recover and must be replaced. You will also be unable to totally shut off the fault buzzer, if you mute the buzzer it will still sound every 20 secs or so. You need to get your landlord to call out the service company ASAP. Guest G.J.M Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 only gives more reason to have it installed right in the first place. usual result=**** install powered from lighting circuit. Bulb blows, fault tone goes, tennant takes matter into own hands and butchers the system. putting everyone at risk. probably never been serviced either. pity your mate did not blow himself up instead of not calling out your landlord to deal with it...
Chorlton Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 LOL ! 50pence says it was installed by _ _ _ _ _ _ electrical services ltd
