Adi Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 This post is //.B.W.F.// eyed. One minute on about mains suppresion then 12v spikes. The above image of the 12v spike filter is the wrong one to fit and will diddly squat. Fit a mains spike filter to the 230v connections in the panel, job done. I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

Guest anguscanplay Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 far cheaper to replace the battery and safer too (and the tamper terminals)
markovitch Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 RFI ? it`s a mythExplain the myth theory please.far cheaper to replace the battery and safer too (and the tamper terminals)how do you replace tamper terminals?
barooga Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 And i'd fit a suppressor to the Central heating - It appears to be the cause. Or sort out why it is kicking out spikes. Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional
Guest anguscanplay Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Explain the myth theory please. "myth" - look here how do you replace tamper terminals? you dont, you read the O/P`s previous posts and relate the comments to the advice he recieved then
Guest anguscanplay Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 And i'd fit a suppressor to the Central heating - It appears to be the cause.Or sort out why it is kicking out spikes. only time I`v seen something comparible was when Dyson vacuums first came out, customer said alarm went off when she switched it on to hoover the stairs - turned out it was one step and a nail through the cable - still not seen mains induced tampers
arfur mo Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 only time I`v seen something comparible was when Dyson vacuums first came out, customer said alarm went off when she switched it on to hoover the stairs - turned out it was one step and a nail through the cable - still not seen mains induced tampers he, he, went to help out on a troublesome job for another installer last year, he was totally lost, every so often client using their gas fueled ascot water heater set off this alarm system, they had fitted extra spike suppression in a vain hope as - it's gas - old type with a pilot light - i.e. no electricity used. . turns out his engineer had used an existing cable which was buried in the plaster and a heater fixing bracket had squashed it, vibration when used then caused on a short and so a tamper, but only every so often. now thinks i'm a genius (but you lot know i am ) regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
Guest anguscanplay Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 just remembered another one - tumble dryer triggering keypad tamper everytime it was used (always, always 20 mins into cycle) hmm - loose fuse on PCB
