This post is //.B.W.F.// eyed.

One minute on about mains suppresion then 12v spikes.

The above image of the 12v spike filter is the wrong one to fit and will diddly squat.

Fit a mains spike filter to the 230v connections in the panel, job done.

I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

agreed imo,

but it is as designed to go into the 12 volts not mains so might get a nice pop if you try it.

far cheaper to fit 2 x 100 pf caps center tapped to earth, and making inductors by wrapping the leads around a small screwdriver 5 turns to make a coil, but i'm just old school so please ignore me everyone :)

Explain the myth theory please.

"myth" - look here

how do you replace tamper terminals?

you dont, you read the O/P`s previous posts and relate the comments to the advice he recieved then

And i'd fit a suppressor to the Central heating - It appears to be the cause.

Or sort out why it is kicking out spikes.

only time I`v seen something comparible was when Dyson vacuums first came out, customer said alarm went off when she switched it on to hoover the stairs - turned out it was one step and a nail through the cable - still not seen mains induced tampers

he, he,

went to help out on a troublesome job for another installer last year, he was totally lost, every so often client using their gas fueled ascot water heater set off this alarm system, they had fitted extra spike suppression in a vain hope as - it's gas - old type with a pilot light - i.e. no electricity used. .

turns out his engineer had used an existing cable which was buried in the plaster and a heater fixing bracket had squashed it, vibration when used then caused on a short and so a tamper, but only every so often.

now thinks i'm a genius (but you lot know i am  )
