Markcam24 Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Hi all, Please help as i have exhausted all my thoughts and brain cells! My Accenta G4 mini has appeared with a 'Tamper Fault' - Lockout on the LCD RKP. When entering the engineers code it takes you to the test, when activating this the panel shows: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 TP 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 10 This suggesting a tamper alarm, I have checked all wiring from main board to PIRs and Contacts and appears to be ok - I am the new owner to the property, have all manuals and codes, this alarm will be serviced by a registered installer but I would rather have the system working before been 'charged' for a repair/callout - Can anyone help? Just to note i have disconnected all PIRs and connections from the main panel as to start from scratch and the Tamper Fault shows from installing the RKP? the wiring to the LCD has also been checked and double checked, I am at a loss.

Guest anguscanplay Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 this alarm will be serviced by a registered installer but I would rather have the system working before been 'charged' for a repair/callout you got SKY? I am at a loss. not been funny but there comes a point where you have to give up
markovitch Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 you got SKY?not been funny but there comes a point where you have to give up Daft question but have you closed the end station lid? Bridge out each tamper at the panel one at a time and that should locate the tamper.Remember to press reset.

Hey AlterEGO! spot on advice, I have twisted both the tamper wires in the RKP and this restored the system, does this mean there is a fault with the RKP wire? the system now sets ok however the stobe on the bell box is constant even when not set?

If so the rkp is at fault not the cable, you may have lost the spring, is there a microswitch [small grey button on a square base] missing a spring? is the spring not contacting the backplate properly [due to cables in way or over tightened backplate.] Either way if they are wired in at the control panel but twisted at the rkp, the fault lies at the rkp end. markovitch take note, this is how the pros do it, i found the fault from my keyboard PS: thats your last bit of free engineering

Like i said before ive got socks older than you. Come back when youre a qualified alarm engineer ,a qualified electronics engineer and a qualified joiner and then tell me how the pro's do it lol. Eagerly awaiting response.
