Humbly Asking For Your Esteemed Advice

double knock sounds like a drink - I can relate to that. If it means something else, you have me at a disadvatage, sir!

I do appreciate all the responses here - a great help...and the banter is good too!

I'm wondering if I'm ordering too much. 3 bed house, front faces a fairly busy street. Back is dark and not overlooked(conservatory with 1 window opposite conservatory door, back door to house).

Side is darkish (conservatory door and 2 small high windows, other sides with 3 high small windows per side, UPVC door to dining room)....and that damn cat!

Opposite side is driveway with separate garage at the end (with side door)

Is the 595 a friendly beast for fitting by an idiot cos I fit that bill nicely!

no pro alarm can be fitted by an idiot [god knows how angus got this far :P ............................joke] but if you have a good read of the manual when it comes you should be ok.

worst case, you fit it and if you can't program it ect. you can get an engineer in just to commission the system.

do not set a wireless pir to double knock. because after the first knock it goes to sleep for 5mins, so in effect you would not get the required second knock. am i right Alan, over to you..........

never heard of a wireless dualtec, but i would not be surprized if there was, thing is with this system it will need to be made by risco to be compatiable........and is your system on the old or the new protocols....

just a suggestion.. mine of course.... using the cpx panel would allow you to mix wired and wireless together. theory being you fit wires where it is easy to run and hide and wirless in the more difficult places....

? what do you keep in your two conservatories that is valuable.... there are some very good break glass detector around. (only work if glass is broken at the right frequency, well some of them work this way)

remember amongst all this fun, there is some very good advice... make your decision and stick with it.....good luck.

ps i two am a gardtec fan

no, for what you need the 595 is the one, forget the 816. the 816 has no dialer ect, just forget that one.

G-tags are little prox tags that allow you to set/unset the system without a code, don't need them.

or you could use wireless keyfobs which can set/unset from outside and have a panic button on them aswell as a spare button which can be used for garage door ect.

you don't need either, you can just use you code.

but don't forget the excellent G595 is not 16 zones but 10 zones without expansion (8 + 2 zones - using tamper and the other off the keypad zone).

nothing valuable in the conservatories just plants! It 's just that the conservatories are the 1st point of entry to house. I was going to have those doors chime during the day in case some was to walk in. Might be better just to lock those doors in the daytime.

now now alen, don't take on the gardtec king :D

i was refering to the wireless expansion, which with two recivers is 16 wireless sensors and 16 wireless keyfobs.

The hard wired is 8, with a total of 44 when expanded fully. ;)

i thought the G595 only supported 1 Rx (like the CPX) and you need the the G872 for 2 Rx's
