amateurandy Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 As above RISCO THE MAKER OF THE PANEL sell a face plate filter that i have fitted many of with no issue. Job done. The ACT is designed to eliminate alot of other issues which as an installer i don't want eliminated for my own reasons. Fair comment. PS You were too quick - missed my final edit on earlier post after I saw your other reply: "And AlterEGO suggested another source at Risco."

amateurandy Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Out of interest, what type/model did you get and how much including delivery?
Robbo78 Posted December 10, 2007 Author Posted December 10, 2007 Seperate wired in unit. A & B in and 2 & 5 out. Straight forward enough.
Robbo78 Posted December 10, 2007 Author Posted December 10, 2007 Sorry computers playing up tonight !
Robbo78 Posted December 19, 2007 Author Posted December 19, 2007 Hi, On the first alarm I had problems with I fitted one of the filters I ordered from Gardtec and it resolved the problem straight away. On the other alarm where I had the same problem I replaced the exsisting master socket with the new filtered one from Gardtec and I still had the same problem. At the job at this house the customer has 2 sky boxes, telephone and broadband all connected into the master but I noticed they are all connected by rj11 (bt phone plugs). Even the broadband. Which is externally filtered through the phone line side. Going back to what Arfur mentioned, do I need an adaptor to convert it to an rj45 so I can plug it into the internet/data side of the external filter? http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Module...O&U=strat15 Many thanks...
Robbo78 Posted December 19, 2007 Author Posted December 19, 2007 Oh and Andy, yes it did turn out to be a replacement face plate after all.
alterEGO Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Oh and Andy, yes it did turn out to be a replacement face plate after all. that new one they are now using [the last ones were not face plates] are not master sockets, and should not replace a master socket. they are extension sockets, and you should use them just as you used the other and leave the BT one alone, just connect to 2 & 5 and take the cable back to the panel and fit the filter socket there. ps: just fitted one tonight so i have seen them
