Ade-ultimate & Texecom Speech And Text Dialler

i have installed the speech dialler and made it work with little difficulty. i noticed in the book that there are two outputs that can be controlled via the telephone during the call so i read up on my panel (ade-ultimate) which has OP7 and OP8 that are treated as inputs. from the engineering info available it seems to be as simple as hooking a wire from OP1 on the texecom to OP7 on the ultimate panel and then programming the panel to "remote reset" on the output signal from the dialler. ok so it doesnt happen. i tested it many times and the texecom responds as it should on the phone with the beep as if it has sent the signal but the alarm still continues. it may be something stupid i am missing in a menu somewhere or it may be an electronics thing. i do not know but i have an inkling that i may need to just set up some kind of relay to switch the ultimates OP7 to short with ground using the output from the texecom rather than actually signalling directly from tx OP1 to ADE OP7. does anyone have any ideas and if it is a case of needing to ground out OP7 can anyone suggest a way of wiring the relay???

thank you in advance for any help.

i also have the exact same set up for another site but here its karizma+. does anyone know of a way to do a remote reset on that panel?? it doesnt look like it is an option in the menus but it is i think in the communicator as with the ultimate and i considered the merits of using one of the add on communicator pins and connecting it up to the OP1 of the texecom to get the signal when i key (*1) on my phone after acking the alarm. would this work in both cases or does the whole communicator have to be present??

i know its lots of questions but im just interested in finding a way round this small problem.

Remote reset doesn't switch the alarm off it resets it for use after being switched off by the user when engineer reset has been programmed - usually on a police response system.

thank you. that makes a lot of sense and since the panel is programmed not to need the engineers code to reset, remote reset would appear to have no effect. btw the reason i wished to switch off the alarm remotely was so i could use the listen in feature on the texecom which is quite difficult with a hundred decibels of siren wailing inside the room!

i am IT/Telecoms and Electronics trained and have been asked by my company where im IT manager to manage the alarms.

i was dubious as its not a field i have delved in to but it all seems to be fairly straightforward and methodical.

one thing i will say is that the alarm company that used to service us left an rkp broken for 2 years with tape holding it together, failed to replace a pir that was constantly triggering false alarms to the point where the arc would only call the keyholders and when they fitted the alarm in 1996 or so for some reason saw fit to put a pir in an 4 foot square lobby that only has one door which is chubbed, dead bolted and has a draw bar along with a magnetic reed switch. the only way in to that lobby is with a sledge hammer and its a fire door the other route is through the main room which has 2 pirs and again front door mag/reed. is there any reason why this pir should have been there?

like i said i am no expert in alarms but a look at the office would tell me that it was not needed.

on that note does anyone know where i can obtain an rkp for ade-ultimate and are there any generic keypads that are compatible with that panel??

thanks for your response.

What we have done in the past (on a Pyronix Vocaliser) is to put a relay on the system, that cuts the internal sounder, allowing you to listen in.

I've had a quick look at the texecom manual and if the relay is controlled by output 1 (setup for "remote access"), in theory it should do the same thing. When you log off from the Texecom it will go back to making a load of noise.

You will need a low current relay <100ma and have authority (read engineer access) to get into the back of the Texecom unit..

Good luck

ADE Ultimate is obsolete and there are no substitutes, your only hope is eBay or an installer with a spare - I don't hold out much hope.
