Hello,

Recently moved into a property with a Veritas R8 system. I was left instructions on how to change the pin number which I`ve done but what I need to know is how to turn the mains power off. As soon as i flick the switch it goes into tamper. How do I silence the alarm to do any diy in the house. Any help much appreciated.

It should have an internal battery to keep it working properly through several hours of power cuts.......

But they don't last forever - maybe 4 or 5 years?

Has it been serviced recently?

sounds like the internal battery is dead so it would need replacing.

either go down the local wholesalers and ask them for a new one or if you dont feel confident about touching things in the panel then call in an alarm engineer.
