Collectors Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Hi, hope someone can help with a query. I would like to use an alarm panel in a remote property. 1st for an alarm, but would also want to use the panel for some remote switching (on/off) of 230volts supplies via 12 volt coiled relays (eight of them). I am an electrician but with limited experience with the alarm side of things, & possibilities on using them. My questions are? 1. Can I use an alarm panel for this? 2. Can I access the panel over the internet to turn alarm on/off. 3. Can I also access the panel over the internet to control the 8 relays? 4. And lastly, also have the panel contact me if one of the outputs are triggered saying which output was activated. Either via email/text/phone. Would really appreciate any suggestions to if this is possible & any recommendations on a panel that might do this & would be reliable. Many, many thanks. Chris.

Tel Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 appreciate the response, what is your sites URL? well having a google, I found an IP alarm wigget seller with this text on the site, They can be interfaced to any control panel with a built-in modem that sends out alarm signals using any DTMF alarm protocol like Ademco Contact ID, Express or Fast Format. When taking over a system, you don't need to worry if the losing alarm company have "locked" the panel. The adapter combats these tactics by ignoring the telephone number and account code already programmed into the panel and sends signals directly to your chosen Monitoring Center. does any one else find the above odd, chances are if on remote signalling the system will be on engineering reset so the 1st time you set it off to see if the IP works the system won't be setable These IP things are they accepted by any insurers yet?

Please understand that our main market is North America where Engineer reset is not often used. US Alarm companies do not pass on their engineer codes when the customer terminates their contract, so customers are left with a panel that works OK, but they cannot program it. In this situation, they can use our adapters to get monitoring going again. Free Alarm Monitoring over the Internet from IP Alarms
