needhelp Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 Recently my alarm has been sounding in the middle of the night with the Error 6F. I clear this but it continues to go off every 30 mins for about 4 hours which is becoming very frustrating. Can anybody give me advice on how to stop this? Is the code 6F or is it really BF for the Battery? Any help would be much appreciated asap!

Battery fault - the system is detecting the back up battery has had it`s day ( you should be able to work out what you need to do to stop the system detecting the battery)
satsuma01 Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 Battery f[/b]ault - the system is detecting the back up battery has had it`s day ( you should be able to work out what you need to do to stop the system detecting the battery) the battery needs replacing by the sounds of it, if you feel confident to do it yourself then please proceed with caution as mains voltage which is lethal and can kill is present in the panel. if you dont feel confident about replacing the back up battery in panel then ask a local company who sahould charge between "If you carry your childhood with you, you never become old. Why rush to end life when happiness is in the blissfulness of childhood innocence.""We all die, the goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will." 07475071344
needhelp Posted December 23, 2007 Author Posted December 23, 2007 Many thanks for your help. If we set the alarm overnight will that prevent it from going off due to not using the back up battery? Also, we have a spare battery but just wondered if you could advise whether the settings are lost when you change a battery over? Thanks
breff Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 Change the battery ASAP, or you'll regret it when it starts going off at 3am and repeats it every 5 minutes. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
needhelp Posted December 23, 2007 Author Posted December 23, 2007 Yeah I experienced that last night from 1am to 4am every half an hour. Thanks for advice i am very grateful
