This parameter determines the delay between the activation of AC Fail outputs following a mains failure to allow the power to return before signaling the fault. The Power Delay is programmable within the range 0-50 mins Battery stand by for the system should be 8hrs, you'll have to work it out and add PSUs if necessary. Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care.

F C E Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Just a quick question on a complety different tangent are you installing the alarm for your piece of mind or are you telling your insurance company so you get some sort of discount? regs FCE All comments in this post are my own views and do not necessarily reflect the views of my employer
cjd Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 No it's not for insurance discount. I realise that for that it would have to be maintained by a company and installed by one!! the system is more for piece of mind and to ensure that emergency doors are kept soley for emergencies. it a campsite so large numbers of people use it, the system also allows us to restrict access to different part of the buildings which helps us to keep visitors only int he bits they have hired.its a DIY job and is by no means professional, but i must say i am pleased with what i've been able to do re:-programming etc. (with help from postings on here!!)

Public, restricted access etc. downright dangerous if not done right. Your insurers would have kittens. GET IT DONE PROFESSIONALLY.

Your insurers would have kittens. GET IT DONE PROFESSIONALLY. when i say restrict access, i don't mean an electric fence!! i simply mean that different parts of the building remain alarmed if they're not being used. the fire exit doors are on a security loop which activitates a sounder to indicate that's it been opened. the system has 3 pir's inside and obviously the main extry/exit on a door contact. i can't see any problem with that. The system ISN't used to reduce insurance (i am fully aware that the system would need to be installed and maintained by a registered company) hence the fact it's just for peace of mind so that myself and other staff can leave the site knowing that it has some security.
satsuma01 Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 have you thought of installing cctv? "If you carry your childhood with you, you never become old. cjd Posted December 28, 2007 Author Posted December 28, 2007 have a very basic PC based system which i've put together. its' not the best, but does the job of deterring dog walkers and the like who shouldn't be on site - and before anyone one here says anything - YES we do have signs up!!alarm system for peace of mind, cctv for same and also for deterrent.
F C E Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Please dont take it as were flaming you or anything just making sure you have covered all the bases, dont want anything untoward to happen if you were to miss something So are your Fire Doors programmed as 24 hour zones so that even with system unset they will still set alarm off should they be opened??
