Faulty Veritas R8+

Hi

Looking for some help, I have a veritas R8+ with RKP, well my sister does lives 120 miles away. The main control box and RKP started buzzing I presume these are internal alarms. When the code is put in the the alarms stop but start up again after approx 10 mins. I was visiting over Xmas and had a look there are no zone lights on and no tamper lights on. I did disconect the alarm sounder/speaker in the main control box to reduce the noise while trying to solve the problem but the alarm in thr RKP is still sounding the only way to stop it is by dissconecting the mains and battery. This alarm system is at least 10 years old and this is the first time she as had a problem, which I think is good going. If the system is on the mains does it need to have a battery for the alarm system to work I dont think she as ever replaced the battery. But surly this would this only cause a problem during a power cut, ie no battery back up. As long as the mains is on the system should function OK yer?

thankyou very much in advance for any help or advice any one on the forum can give me.

manythanks.

Hi all

tried a new battery in the alarm but as not solved the problem, any more ideas would be much apreciated.

mant thanks :(

did they totally power down the system?

tbh with you, the more messing about, the more time she is left un protected from intruders. it would be quicker an more cost effective for her to get a local engineer round.

where abouts is she?
