Beechcroft Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I have a Scantronic 9448+ panel and have just fitted a GardTes Novagard GA external sounder as some clown had stolen the cover of the prevoius sounder. I have fitted the sounder as per instructions but when I power the system up and reset the alarm, the internal sounder stops but the external sounder does not. The sounder is in Standard Mode. Connections are: Scantronic Novagard 0V 0V +12V +12V Bell S- TR TMPR STR STR- TMPV jumpered to 0V Any ideas? P.S. I am an alarm novice but a qualified electrician
Guest anguscanplay Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 what voltage reading do you get between 12v and TR at the panel end ?

Guest anguscanplay Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 you need to bend the lever a little bit and short 0V to set too
antinode Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 and short 0V to set too What is it with Gardtec and having to put little bits of wire, capacitors, resistors etc in to make them work properly I like the stuff but christ... Trade Member
arfur mo Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 What is it with Gardtec and having to put little bits of wire, capacitors, resistors etc in to make them work properly I like the stuff but christ... is annoying, but they are fairly quick imo to put it right once they notice a problem. given how long the known bugs on other kit have been in existence, like XM panels that can't recover from a power down if the battery is flat 98's dropping their programming , have a look at the problems the tex panels in the forums have, and gardtec seems still to be very good gear at a fair price. regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
kka Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 gardtec seem to respond very well to feedback and problem discovered..... imo Kevin Scott. Owner of KK Alarms...... Installation .. Service ..
