amateurandy Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Nice to see someone looking help getting the usual "help" Flaw in the idea using a 3G USB unit is the fact they will not allow streaming on any network So my "could work" becomes a NO, it won't work. Arfur & Angus can go and play elsewhere now.
arfur mo Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Complete nonsense! The post was a wind up. Everytime questions were asked the problem changed. This was definitely not to hide the job. Give us all some credit Arfur. and i do honest, just you lot don't make it so easy to do that sometimes regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!

Doktor Jon Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 the o/p imo is being vague in order (i'd assume) not to give away either the job details or the site location as either a respect of confidence to his client, or understandably to protect his own commercial interests. lets face it, we are not the only 'sado' people who read these posts.so lets just accept he can't divulge the true scenario, and so has done his best to conjure up a comparison situation in order to explain what he needs. Makes sense to me
SystemQ Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 i don't want to hi jack this thread, but i'm pondering a simular problem for a current job, so discussing it might help the o/p question and me.scenario block of 10 flats on 3 levels, has a central riser, kit is a SYSQ 365 DVR. i can't run cable inside the flats due to decor problems. question - can i attach say three Wifi access points (1 per floor) into a switch, and then hook the switch into the DVR RJ45 port? i can easily cable the access points into the riser, but will this arrangement let the flats access the dvr from their pc via wireless link (assuming range is ok)? regs alan Hi Alan. To attach the DVR365 to wireless LAN just buy a System Q Ltd.
